What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy is a humanistic science that deals with the human being in all its planes of existence in order to maintain and/or restore a state of health.
Health is understood as the result of the affirmation of one’s personal potential and the ability to satisfy one’s needs as well as to interact effectively with the environment.
It's a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not the mere absence of disease or infirmity (WHO). Health is a resource for everyday life.
"... Naturopathy mixes the millenary knowledge of natural treatments with current knowledge in the health field, considering the personal responsibility for one's own health.
Naturopathy is part of the set of systems and disciplines exercised by non-medical operators in the field of "non-conventional medicines" .... " Norma Uni 11491
What does a Naturopath do?

What are the working tools?
The main tools of Naturopath are iridology , semeiotics, body language, eating lifestyle, reflexology , aromatherapy , herbal medicine, Spagyric herbal medicine, Bach flower therapy...
How is the profession regulated in Italy?
The law Legge quadro 04/2013 has regulated all professions that do not have a register and a college, which includes the profession of Naturopathy.
The UNI 11491 Norm, as per the legge quadro 04/2013, defines what are the knowledge, skills and competences that a Naturopath must have in order to be defined as such.
The professional certification allows the Naturopath to demonstrate the conformity of their knowledge, skills and competences to the norm.
The accreditation of the professional certification carried out
by ACCREDIA (public body for accreditation of certifications) is
important because it imposes a certification model shared at an
international level.
Registration with the trade association constitutes the link between
professionals and institutions. They assure transparency of
activities and promote guarantees to protect customers.
This regulatory system was requested by the European Community
to give guarantees to its customers and allow the free movement
of professionals. In Italy it has been realized thanks to the work of many
years of Assoprofessioni / CNAprofessioni and Naturaliter
regarding the world of Naturopathy.
This is what I have chosen by studying at EUNAM Institute.
